ARJUN |
"NATURE HAVE ARJUNA ARROGANT" by Slamet Priyadi
Arjuna could not reach moksa is perfect because the nature of envy and pride are always proud of his power.
If we examine the puppet story, then it would not be separated from the study of nature, nature and human character in this live (marcapada). Relation to the matter, let us discuss one of puppet characters, Arjuna.
In the story of Arjuna puppet known as a figure man (kesatriya) true. The story is laden with moral teachings. Then if we examine in depth, in the puppet world, there was no one tokohpun who have character, nature, and character is perfect. Arjuna figure is no exception. Arjuna though he was known as kesatriya true figure, it also has weaknesses, namely the nature of pride and envy. Arjuna has a temper haughty, arrogant and always bragged about the excess, cleverness and finesse as well as the magic he had. Always jealous seeing other people as much intelligence and skill, ingenuity and skill were much less than himself. As an illustration let us follow the following story.
Once the teacher (Begawan) Dorna and the beloved disciple Arjuna, and a dog, and their disciples Dorna others went hunting in the woods. Told in the hunt for the dog that brought Arjuna who strayed into the woods by accident in the forest there is dashing and handsome young man named Bambang Ekalaya, a Prince of Nisida who were practicing archery. When Arjuna's dog finds someone was practicing archery, dog barking and barking loudly so that the concentration Bambang Ekalaya disturbed. Was very disturbed by barking dogs, and Bambang Ekalaya revoke his arrows. Without seeing where the position of the dog, and only on the direction of her barking sound, Bambang Ekalaya then releasing the dart toward the sound of barking dogs, and about the dog's mouth right on the muzzle so the dog can not bark again and then ran to his master, the Arjuna. Found dog in pain because his mouth was exposed to seven arrows, Arjuna upset, angry and astonished. In his heart he wondered, "Who is that with so ekspert archery dog", then Arjuna seek and find Bambang Ekalaya. With angry feelings and admiration he asked Bambang Ekalaya,
"Who has taught archery to expert and as good as this?". Pointing toward the muzzle his dog who still seems in pain. Ekalaya Bambang said,
"I learned from the teacher Drona, although not studied directly, but I studied hard to train over and over until I can be as good as this!" Answer Bambang Ekalaya without the slightest trepidation towards Arjuna.
Hearing this answer, and saw with my own eyes Bambang Ekalaya dexterity archery, Arjuna curiosity and desire arise to challenge clashing dexterity to Bambang Ekalaya archery. Told in a penalty shoot stunt ended with the defeat of Arjuna. Accept this defeat Arjuna then see his teacher, Dorna Begawan, then expressed her disappointment and defeat it to his teacher. Arjuna accuse and blame the teacher if the teacher had been unfair and favoritism in the teaching of science of archery, proved there are still others who have been surpassed and exceeded cleverness in archery. Hearing spills resentment and disappointment from the one his favorite disciple, then Begawan Dorna Bambang Ekalaya encounter. As I said,
In the story known puppet Bambang Ekalaya a highly respected and admired teacher, with a sense of calm and not afraid at all Bambang Ekalaya obey his teacher, then cut his thumb on the right, then cut his thumb was left to the teacher, this is done with a feeling of sincere . With this kind of situation automatic skill archery Bambang Ekalaya nothing else to Arjuna, and Arjuna's very happy about it because nobody else can compete with and beat the versatility of science shot him.
If we examine the above description, then we can conclude that the suspicion and accusations of Arjuna to his teacher, who consider Begawan Dorna has been favoritism and unfair character is an expression of envy and malice against the excess of others who could surpass him. Other than that, Arjuna is also known characters with character kesatriya haughty, arrogant and always proud of expose magic he had. Told also by pride and envy of this nature, Arjuna could not reach moksa perfectly.
Apparently Arjuna also has many names, some of which are Janaka, Permadi, Dananjaya, Ciptaning, Mintaraga, etc..
